Go-Set's First issue featured Welshman Tom Jones in 3 sections

Tom Jones had toured in December 1965 with Herman's Hermits and ???? Odd that Go-Set would feature a Welshman so strongly in its first issue. However, the second issue would do a lot to correct the situation. Still to be posted in the blog is the only Australian group to be featured. The first feature group was called The Groop, and they would ultimately make a significant impact on Australian pop music history.

The item is not by-lined however the interviewer was Doug L Panther and the photographer was Colin Beard. They were backstage before the concert, and talked to Tom Jones before the concert. Colin Beard also took photos during the concert. Many of these were not published in Go-Set. This was the first meeting of Doug Panther and Colin Beard.
